Indonesia's Food Prices on Sunday (January 5th): What's the Price of Chili Peppers?

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (5/1/2025) at 10:51 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 5 commodities increased and 16 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are red chilies, pure beef, mackerel, red chilies, and simple packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, bulk wheat flour, fine iodized salt, granulated sugar, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase of Rp1,950 (2.95%) to Rp68,050 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of layer chicken eggs decreased the most sharply by Rp500 (1.62%) to Rp30,400 per kg.
