Over 1.1 Million People with Disabilities Registered on the 2024 Election Voter List

Citing *Republika*, the General Election Commission (KPU) confirms that 1,101,178 people with disabilities are registered in the permanent voter list (DPT) for the 2024 General Election.

This number of voters with disabilities comprises 0.54% of the total 204.8 million national voters.

KPU Commissioner Betty Epsilon Idroos further explained that voters with disabilities are divided into four categories:

* Physical disabilities: 482,414 voters
* Sensory disabilities: 298,749 voters
* Mental disabilities: 264,594 voters
* Intellectual disabilities: 55,421 voters

Previously, the KPU stated it would provide maximum service to voters with disabilities during the voting process on February 14, 2024.

To ensure the comfort of voters with disabilities, the KPU will prepare several facilities, such as special disability access at polling stations (TPS), disability-friendly queues, and ballot designs that facilitate voters with disabilities.

For example, visually impaired voters are allowed to choose their own assistants, and these assistants are obligated to maintain the secrecy of the voter's choice in the voting booth.

Meanwhile, the KPU has determined that there are 204,807,222 voters in the DPT for the 2024 General Election. Compared to the 2019 General Election DPT, this number of voters has increased by 12 million.
