Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Prices of Chicken, Rice, and Salt Increase

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Wednesday (18/9/2024) at 09.58 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), chicken eggs, garlic bulbs, skipjack tuna, and premium rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as medium rice, simple packaged cooking oil, SPHP rice, milkfish, and mackerel decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices surged the highest by Rp4,900 (9.78%) to Rp55,000 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of corn at the farmer level decreased the most by Rp370 (6.76%) to Rp5,100 per kg.
