Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra: Chili Prices Up, Chicken Prices Down (Wednesday, January 17, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Wednesday (17/1/2024) at 10:21 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged simple cooking oil, granulated sugar, chicken eggs, red chilies, and mackerel.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, medium rice, broiler chicken meat, fine iodized salt, and bulk cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Mackerel experienced the highest price increase of Rp870 (2.53%) to Rp35,320 per kg. Broiler chicken meat had the lowest price decrease of Rp710 (2.23%) to Rp31,130 per kg.
