Food Prices in East Java on Wednesday (15/5): Onion, Rice, and Chili Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Wednesday (15/5/2024) at 13:23 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include medium-grain rice, shallots, granulated sugar, premium rice, and mackerel.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as cayenne pepper, farmer-level corn, broiler chicken meat, dry soybean (import), and chicken eggs decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices increased the most by Rp1,440 (6.7%) to Rp22,930 per kg. Farmer-level corn prices decreased the most by Rp270 (4.93%) to Rp5,210 per kg.
