Today's Food Prices in South Sumatra: Chicken and Sugar Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Tuesday (9/7/2024) at 13:52 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 5 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include milkfish, medium rice, granulated sugar, broiler chicken, and corn at the farmer level.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chilies, shallots, garlic bulbs, skipjack tuna, and dry soybeans (imports) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Corn at the farmer level saw the highest price increase, jumping by Rp90 (1.72%) to Rp5,330 per kg. Meanwhile, red chilies experienced the largest price drop, decreasing by Rp310 (0.7%) to Rp44,260 per kg.
