Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Prices of Red Chilies, Eggs, and Rice Fall

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Wednesday (16/4/2025) at 16.35 WIB, out of 24 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 15 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include medium-grain rice, packaged wheat flour, premium rice, dry soybean (import), and granulated sugar.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as milkfish, farmer-level corn, pure beef, garlic bulbs, and broiler chicken have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Table salt saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp170 (1.1%) to Rp15,603 per kg. Milkfish experienced the sharpest price drop, falling Rp6,000 (13.04%) to Rp40,000 per kg.
