Indonesia's Latest Food Prices: Salt Up, Onions Down (Wednesday, January 24, 2024)

Prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (24/1/2024) at 12:15 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 15 commodities increased and 5 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include farmer-level corn, fine iodized salt, bulk cooking oil, garlic bulbs, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as pure beef, Indian mackerel, red chili peppers, shallots, and dry soybean (import) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Farmer-level corn experienced the highest price increase of Rp260 (3.21%) to Rp8,370 per kg. Shallots saw the lowest price decrease of Rp260 (0.73%) to Rp35,400 per kg.
