Indonesia Open 2024 Prize Money: How Much Did Sabar/Reza Win?

The 2024 Indonesia Open, held at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, from June 4th to 9th, 2024, concluded. This prestigious badminton tournament, a BWF Super 1000 level event, offered a total prize of US$1.3 million, equivalent to approximately Rp21.04 billion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp16,189 per US$).

Of the 30 Indonesian representatives competing, only the men's doubles pair Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani reached the semifinals.

However, Sabar/Reza were eliminated from the 2024 Indonesia Open after their semifinal match against the Malaysian pair, Man Wei Chong/Kai Wun Tee, on Saturday evening, June 8th, 2024 (WIB).

Sabar/Reza lost to Man/Tee in two games with a score of 27-29 and 13-21.

Despite failing to win the championship, Sabar/Reza expressed pride in their performance, especially considering their status as a non-national team men's doubles pair and as the only Indonesian representatives to reach the semifinals of the 2024 Indonesia Open.

“We gave our best in this match. We are proud to have finished the game, even though the result didn't bring us victory and a place in the final of the Kapal Api Indonesia Open 2024,” said Sabar, as reported by the PBSI website on Saturday, June 8th, 2024.

According to the Badminton World Federation (BWF), as semifinalists, Sabar/Reza received US$18,200 in prize money, approximately Rp294.63 million per pair.

Meanwhile, Dejan Ferdiansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, who were eliminated in the quarterfinals, received US$8,125, approximately Rp131.53 million per pair.
