Today's Food Prices in West Sumatra: Sugar Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Monday (9/9/2024) at 13.54 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 12 commodities increased in price and 8 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include skipjack tuna, bulk wheat flour, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), granulated sugar, and dry soybean (import).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as Indian mackerel, iodized fine salt, pure beef, curly red chilies, and shallots decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of corn at the farmer level saw the highest increase, jumping Rp160 (2.91%) to Rp5,650 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red chili saw the steepest decrease, dropping Rp1,130 (2.15%) to Rp51,310 per kg.

6. Curly Red Chili: Rp35,510 per kg (down 1.55%)
7. Broiler Chicken: Rp34,320 per kg (down 0.69%)
8. Milkfish: Rp31,580 per kg (unchanged)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp29,050 per kg (up 0.83%)
