Banyumas Regency's 2023 current price Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) reached Rp68.75 trillion. This represents a 5.4% increase compared to the previous year's Rp62.82 trillion.
Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic year of 2020, the region's economic growth is significantly higher. At the end of 2020, post-COVID, growth recorded a decrease of 1.65%.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 1.85 million, the GRDP per capita in the region is recorded at Rp37,600,000/capita/year. Nationally, this ranks 320th.
Of the 17 sectors driving the regency's economy, the manufacturing industry is the leading sector.
In 2023, the manufacturing sector in Banyumas Regency recorded a value of Rp17.88 trillion, ranking first among the 17 sectors. This represents a 5.53% growth compared to the previous year's Rp16.06 trillion.
Second is the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector, which grew by 5.81% to Rp10.51 trillion, followed by the construction sector in third place, growing by 3.36% to Rp9 trillion.
Finally, rounding out the top five GRDP sectors in Banyumas Regency is information and communication, with a value of Rp3.54 trillion. According to BPS, this sector achieved 10.3% growth over the previous year's Rp3.2 trillion.

In terms of distribution, the manufacturing sector contributed the most to Banyumas Regency's GRDP growth, accounting for 23.08%. Other top five sectors include wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; construction; agriculture, forestry, and fisheries; and information and communication.
The sectors with the smallest distribution are other services; health and social services; company services; electricity and gas supply; and water supply, waste management, waste disposal and recycling.
