Red Onion Prices in Central Sulawesi Increased by 17.18% This Week

The price of medium-sized shallots in Central Sulawesi reached Rp 49,450 per kg on Friday, March 11, 2022. Compared to other regions, this area showed the highest price increase in the last week.

According to daily commodity price data from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center, the price of medium-sized shallots in Central Sulawesi increased by 17.18% within a week.

Compared to the price 30 days prior, the price of medium-sized shallots in this region has increased by 23.78%. This signifies a significant surge within a month. Furthermore, compared to the last year's prices, this is the highest price ever recorded for medium-sized shallots in Central Sulawesi's modern markets.

From January to March 2022, the price of medium-sized shallots in modern markets continued to rise, increasing by 23.78% compared to the previous month.

The price of medium-sized shallots reached its lowest point at Rp 32,400 per kg on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. The highest price this year reached Rp 49,450 per kg.

Nationally, the price of medium-sized shallots started to rise towards the end of 2021. The average price of medium-sized shallots in modern markets is Rp 45,500 per kg, a 4.18% increase compared to the previous weekend.
