Indonesia's Infrastructure Budget Reaches Record High of Rp 419.2 Trillion in the 2020 RAPBN

The Indonesian government increased the infrastructure budget in the 2020 State Budget (RAPBN) draft by 4.9% to Rp 419.2 trillion. This infrastructure budget is the largest during the presidency of Joko Widodo. The 2020 infrastructure budget comprises Rp 405.1 trillion for economic infrastructure, Rp 8.7 trillion for social infrastructure, and Rp 5.3 trillion for infrastructure support.

Infrastructure development targets are divided into several areas. First, connectivity, including the construction of 837 km of roads, 238.8 km of railway lines, and the completion of three new airports. Second, water resilience, encompassing the rehabilitation and construction of irrigation networks for 16,000 hectares and the construction of 49 dams.

Third, housing, involving the construction of 5,224 apartment units and 2,000 special houses. In addition, new priority infrastructure projects in 2020 include the Super Priority National Strategic Projects (including the Mandalika GP) and preparations for the 2020 PON (National Games) in Papua.
