Latest Indonesian Food Prices: Chili Prices Up, Sugar Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today have been observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Monday (9/12/2024) at 12:21 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 15 commodities increased in price and 5 decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include iodized fine salt, SPHP rice, red chilies, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), and dry soybean seeds (import).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as farmer-level corn, skipjack tuna, bulk wheat flour, granulated sugar, and bulk cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies experienced the highest price increase, up by Rp660 (2.17%) to Rp31,110 per kg. Farmer-level corn saw the largest price decrease, down by Rp50 (0.83%) to Rp5,940 per kg.
