Current Food Prices in Yogyakarta Special Region: Rice and Onion Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in Yogyakarta, D.I. today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Monday (12/8/2024) at 12.20 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 4 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), shallots, red chilies, simple packaged cooking oil, and medium-grain rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as skipjack tuna, red chilies, broiler chicken, and garlic cloves decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies experienced the highest price increase, jumping Rp2,860 (8.52%) to Rp36,410 per kg. Meanwhile, red chilies saw the steepest price drop, decreasing by Rp1,210 (2.11%) to Rp56,050 per kg.
