April 2019, Slowdown in State Revenue Growth

The Ministry of Finance announced that state revenue up to April 2019 reached Rp 530.7 trillion, or 24.5% of the target set in the State Budget (APBN). This state revenue only grew by 0.5% compared to the same period in 2018. However, this growth rate slowed compared to the same period in previous years. In April 2018, state revenue grew by 13.3%, while in 2017 it grew by 20.5%.

The sluggish state revenue at the beginning of this year was triggered by a decrease in Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) and Grant Revenue. Tax revenue still grew, although smaller than last year's growth.

In detail, state revenue consisted of tax revenue of Rp 436.4 trillion, or a 4.7% year-on-year growth. This figure already fulfills 24.4% of the APBN target. Furthermore, PNBP amounted to Rp 94 trillion, or 24.8% of the target. This item experienced a 14.8% contraction compared to the same period the previous year. Finally, grant revenue of Rp 400 billion also showed a negative growth of 64.3%. This grant item has reached 81.4% of the APBN target.
