Today's Food Prices in West Sumatra February 05: Red Chili Rises, Eggs Fall

Several food commodity prices in West Sumatra today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Quoting data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Thursday (February 5, 2026) at 15:59 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 3 commodities increased and 1 commodity decreased.

Commodities that experienced price increases were shallots, curly red chilies, and bird's eye red chilies.

Meanwhile, only chicken eggs decreased compared to yesterday's price.

Curly red chili prices jumped the highest by Rp5,185 (11.96%) to Rp48,555 per kg. Chicken egg prices fell the sharpest by Rp83 (0.28%) to Rp29,681 per kg.
