Today's Food Prices in East Java: Salt and Chili Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Wednesday (8/5/2024) at 17.36 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include mackerel, chicken eggs, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), granulated sugar, and bulk wheat flour.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as medium rice, skipjack tuna, red chilies, shallots, and milkfish decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of mackerel increased the most, by Rp1,440 (4.44%) to Rp33,860 per kg. The price of corn at the farmer level decreased the most, by Rp670 (10.18%) to Rp5,910 per kg.
