Indonesia's Saturday (July 6th) Food Prices: Sugar, Oil, and Chili Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Saturday (6/7/2024) at 08.01 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 16 commodities increased in price and 5 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged cooking oil, broiler chicken, milkfish, shallots, and iodized fine salt.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as farmer-level corn, premium rice, curly red chilies, pure beef, and bulk wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Milkfish prices surged the highest at Rp2,110 (6.42%) to Rp34,990 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of farmer-level corn fell the most sharply by Rp430 (7.68%) to Rp5,170 per kg.
