Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chili Padi Prices Up, Red Chili Down

Prices of several food items in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

According to data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (October 29, 2025) at 08:01 AM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include bulk cooking oil, mackerel, dried soybean seeds (imported), red chili padi, and corn at the farmer level.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as red onion, broiler eggs, milkfish, packaged cooking oil, and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili padi increased the most by Rp4,411 (9.33%) to Rp51,667 per kg. Milkfish prices, however, saw the sharpest decrease of Rp60,000 (100.0%) to Rp0 per kg.
