South Sumatra Food Prices Week of June 2nd: Chili Prices Rise, Beef Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (2/6/2024) at 09.07 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include simple packaged cooking oil, dry soybean (import), red chilies, premium rice, and medium rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as pure beef, chicken eggs, farmer-level corn, granulated sugar, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase of Rp7,610 (14.74%) to Rp59,250 per kg. Farmer-level corn experienced the lowest price decrease of Rp480 (8.76%) to Rp5,000 per kg.

7. Mackerel: Rp34,760 per kg (up 7.72%)
8. Milkfish: Rp29,780 per kg (up 10.38%)
9. Skipjack Tuna: Rp28,020 per kg (up 2.6%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp27,330 per kg (down 2.46%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,770 per kg (down 0.95%)
12. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp17,660 per liter (up 2.61%)
