Sumatera Selatan's Current Food Prices: Onion Prices Rise, Chili Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Sunday (18/8/2024) at 10:25 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 4 commodities increased and 16 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are bulk cooking oil, red chilies, shallots, and broiler chicken.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as granulated sugar, skipjack tuna, dry soybeans (import), pure beef, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest price increase of IDR 220 (0.96%) to IDR 23,240 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of curly red chilies decreased the most sharply by IDR 2,290 (5.4%) to IDR 40,150 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in South Sumatra according to Bapanas on August 18, 2024, at 10:25 WIB.

5. Broiler Chicken: IDR 32,230 per kg (up 0.72%)
6. Mackerel: IDR 31,690 per kg (down 1.49%)
7. Skipjack Tuna: IDR 27,020 per kg (down 1.57%)
8. Milkfish: IDR 26,560 per kg (down 0.86%)
9. Chicken Eggs: IDR 26,510 per kg (down 0.79%)
10. Shallots: IDR 23,240 per kg (up 0.96%)
