Sumatera Barat Food Price Update Today: Chili Prices Up, Salt Prices Down (Sunday, January 21, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Sunday (21/1/2024) at 10:34 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include granulated sugar, dry soybean (import), pure beef, red chilies, and farmer-level corn.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as iodized fine salt, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), skipjack tuna, simple packaged cooking oil, and chicken eggs decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Farmer-level corn experienced the highest price increase of Rp450 (6.69%) to Rp7,180 per kg. Meanwhile, milkfish had the lowest price decrease of Rp2,160 (6.68%) to Rp30,170 per kg.

8. Milkfish: Rp30,170 per kg (down 6.68%)
9. Red Onion: Rp28,550 per kg (down 4.71%)
