State civil apparatus (ASN), including civil servants (PNS) and retirees, will soon receive their Hari Raya allowance (THR) 10 days before Eid al-Fitr 2022.
The Special Staff to the Minister of Finance, Yustinus Prastowo, stated that the THR will also be given to the president and vice president. So, how much will Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Ma'ruf Amin's THR be this year?
Based on Government Regulation (PP) Number 16 of 2022 concerning the Granting of THR and the 13th Month Salary to State Apparatus, Pensioners, Pension Recipients, and Allowance Recipients in 2022, it is explained that the THR for state officials, including the president and vice president, includes basic salary, general allowance, family allowance, position allowance or general allowance, and 50 percent of performance allowance.
Meanwhile, Law Number 7 of 1978 concerning the Financial Entitlements of the President and Vice President's Administration states that the president's basic salary is set at six times the highest basic salary of state officials, excluding the president and vice president. The vice president's salary is four times the highest salary.
Through PP Number 75 of 2000 concerning the Basic Salary of Leaders of State High Institutions, it is conveyed that the salary of the House of Representatives (DPR), the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), and the Supreme Court (MA) is Rp 5,040,000 per month.
With the rule of multiplying six times the highest salary, Jokowi's salary is Rp 30,240,000 per month. Ma'ruf's salary is Rp 20,160,000 per month, with the rule of four times the highest salary.
The position allowance is regulated in Presidential Decree (Kepres) Number 68 of 2001 concerning Position Allowances for Certain State Officials. This regulation explains that the president's allowance is Rp 32,500,000 per month and the vice president's allowance is Rp 22,000,000.
Therefore, the THR that Jokowi will receive is Rp 62,740,000. Meanwhile, the THR that Ma'ruf will receive is Rp 42,160,000.
