Daily Price of Medium-Sized Red Onions at Modern Markets, March 2024-2025

The latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel shows that the daily price of medium-sized shallots in modern markets in Riau Province is recorded at Rp36,150 per kg. This price is unchanged compared to the previous day and the last week.

Compared to the price 30 days ago, the daily price of medium-sized shallots in modern markets has decreased from Rp56,950 per kg.

Meanwhile, the daily price of medium-sized shallots in modern markets in Riau Province over the last three months has decreased by 9.96%. According to historical food price records on the PIHPS price panel, the daily price of medium-sized shallots in modern markets in Riau Province was traded at Rp40,150 per kg.

The record high for the daily price of medium-sized shallots in modern markets in this province was previously recorded in June 2023 with an increase of 58.39%, and the lowest decrease was also recorded in June 2023 with a decrease of -33.24%.

The PIHPS monitoring shows that the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) today in Riau Province recorded ten commodities decreasing and 19 others increasing. The basic commodities with decreased prices are Granulated Sugar, Shallots, Medium-sized Garlic, Super I Quality Rice, Premium Quality Granulated Sugar, Fresh Layer Eggs, Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 2, Medium-sized Shallots, Garlic, and Local Granulated Sugar.

The following are the prices of basic commodities monitored by PIHPS today compared to the price developments over the last month in Riau Province:

6. Chili per kg: Rp94,900 (up 78.05%)
7. Granulated Sugar per kg: Rp17,050 (down 1.16%)
8. Green Chili per kg: Rp96,400 (up 88.28%)
9. Cooking Oil per kg: Rp19,450 (up 2.91%)
10. Medium Quality I Rice per kg: Rp16,150 (up 20.52%)
11. Shallots per kg: Rp36,150 (down 22.09%)
12. Medium-sized Garlic per kg: Rp33,250 (down 0.89%)
13. Medium Quality II Rice per kg: Rp13,500 (up 1.5%)
