West Papua's Sugar Price is the Highest in the Nation (Monday, September 19, 2022)

The National Strategic Food Price Information Center recorded an average daily price of granulated sugar (per kg) in modern markets across several provinces at Rp 14,330 per kg, as of Monday, September 19, 2022. Overall, the average this week decreased compared to last week's average of Rp 14,350 per kg.

The daily price of granulated sugar in modern markets in West Papua was the most expensive in Indonesia, with a selling price of Rp 17,150 per kg. Compared to a month ago, the price of granulated sugar in this province has not changed. The highest selling price ever recorded in this region was Rp 21,250 per kg.

Meanwhile, in Gorontalo's modern markets, granulated sugar was sold at Rp 17,000 per kg, making it the second most expensive in the country.

Then, in third place, the price of granulated sugar in Papua was Rp 16,950 per kg, Riau Rp 16,250 per kg, and West Sulawesi Rp 15,850 per kg.

Meanwhile, there are 20 provinces with granulated sugar sales below the national average. The three provinces with the lowest selling prices for granulated sugar are West Kalimantan, Riau Islands, and North Maluku.
