Wednesday's (August 28th) Food Prices in Central Java: Onion and Chili Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Wednesday (28/8/2024) at 16.13 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include bulk cooking oil, chicken eggs, garlic bulbs, granulated sugar, and milkfish.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, Indian mackerel, simple packaged cooking oil, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), and bulk wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Bulk cooking oil saw the highest price increase of Rp200 (1.26%), reaching Rp16,100 per liter. Meanwhile, red chili peppers experienced the sharpest price drop of Rp1,550 (4.29%), reaching Rp34,570 per kg.
