North Sumatra Food Price Update Today: Onion and Chili Prices Drop (Sunday, December 24, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in North Sumatra today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (24/12/2023) at 12:41 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased in price and 10 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include milkfish, bulk wheat flour, premium rice, red chili peppers, and chicken eggs.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as dry soybean (import), curly red chili peppers, mackerel, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), and skipjack tuna decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili peppers saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp9,910 (19.89%) to Rp59,730 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of fine iodized salt saw the lowest decrease, dropping Rp360 (3.05%) to Rp11,460 per kg.

5. Milkfish: Rp38,000 per kg (up 4.37%)
6. Garlic Bulb: Rp36,360 per kg (down 1.36%)
7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp34,910 per kg (down 1.16%)
8. Red Onion: Rp33,410 per kg (down 0.03%)
9. Chicken Meat: Rp30,770 per kg (unchanged)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp27,510 per kg (up 1.89%)
