The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that Indonesia's economy in Q2 2023 grew by 5.17% (year-on-year/yoy) compared to Q2 2022. Compared to Q1 2023, it grew by 3.86% (quarter-to-quarter/qtq).
Measured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices, its value reached Rp5,226.7 trillion in Q2 2023. This is an increase from Rp5,072.4 trillion in Q1 2023.
Meanwhile, at constant 2010 prices, it reached Rp3,075.7 trillion, up from Rp2,961.6 trillion in Q1 2023.
This increase in total GDP was contributed by various economic sectors.
In terms of nominal GDP value at current prices, the largest contribution came from the manufacturing industry, reaching Rp953.9 trillion in Q2 2023. This is a 0.47% (qtq) increase from Rp941.6 trillion in the previous quarter.
The next largest contributing sector was agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, reaching Rp697 trillion, a significant 15.32% (qtq) increase from Rp597.5 trillion.
Following this was wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, reaching Rp671.5 trillion, a 2.50% (qtq) increase from Rp657 trillion.
BPS stated that in terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the sector of government administration, defense, and compulsory social security, reaching 15.80%. This figure is calculated based on Q2 compared to Q1 2023 (qtq).
