Indonesia's Latest Food Prices: Onion Prices Rise, Chili Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Tuesday (20/8/2024) at 08.02 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 18 commodities increased in price and 3 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include dry soybean (import), broiler chicken, shallots, premium rice, and bulk cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chilies, pure beef, and milkfish decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots experienced the highest price increase, jumping Rp1,620 (4.07%) to Rp41,430 per kg. Milkfish prices saw the steepest decline, dropping Rp1,790 (5.35%) to Rp31,680 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in Indonesia according to Bapanas on August 20, 2024, at 08.02 WIB.

8. Milkfish: Rp31,680 per kg (down 5.35%)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp29,770 per kg (up 3.73%)
10. Shallots: Rp26,460 per kg (up 3.72%)
