Daily Red Chili Prices in Traditional Markets of South Sumatra Province Have Fallen 34.93% in the Last Month

Latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel shows that the daily price of red chilies in traditional markets in South Sumatra Province is recorded at Rp38,000. This price is up Rp750 compared to the previous day.

Compared to the price 30 days ago, the daily price of red chilies in traditional markets has decreased from the previously recorded Rp58,400.

Meanwhile, the daily price of red chilies in traditional markets in South Sumatra over the past three months has fallen by 31.22%. According to historical records of food prices on the PIHPS price panel, the daily price of red chilies in traditional markets in South Sumatra Province was traded at Rp55,250.

The record high for the daily price of red chilies in traditional markets in this province was previously recorded in June 2019 with an increase of 42.39%, and the lowest decrease was recorded in March 2024 with a decrease of -33.23%.

PIHPS monitoring shows that the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) today in South Sumatra recorded 20 commodities down and one up. Basic commodities with price decreases include Chicken Eggs, Fresh Broiler Chicken, Large Red Chilies, Green Bird's Eye Chilies, Red Chilies, Curly Red Chilies, Medium-sized Garlic, Red Onions, Premium Quality Sugar, Red Bird's Eye Chilies, Medium-sized Red Onions, Beef, Grade 2 Beef, Sugar, Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 1, Chicken Meat, Garlic, Cooking Oil, Bird's Eye Chilies, and Fresh Chicken Eggs.

The following are the prices of nine basic commodities monitored by PIHPS today compared to price developments over the past month in South Sumatra Province:

8. Red Chilies per Kg Rp58,650 per kg (down 32.27%)
9. Curly Red Chilies per Kg Rp43,900 per kg (down 12.55%)
10. Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 2 per Kg Rp19,800 per kg (up 1.54%)
