Sumatera Barat Food Price Update Today: Salt Prices Up, Chili Prices Down (Monday, January 15, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to be lower than yesterday's.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Monday (15/1/2024) at 14.24 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include skipjack tuna, chicken eggs, bulk wheat flour, broiler chicken, and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as Indian mackerel, bulk cooking oil, garlic bulbs, farmer-level corn, and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt experienced the highest price increase of Rp2,480 (17.97%) to Rp16,280 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili peppers saw the lowest price decrease of Rp7,190 (15.22%) to Rp40,050 per kg.

6. Skipjack Tuna: Rp32,650 per kg (up 0.96%)
7. Milkfish: Rp32,330 per kg (unchanged)
8. Broiler Chicken: Rp31,070 per kg (up 0.68%)
9. Red Onions: Rp30,500 per kg (down 0.55%)
