Central Java Food Price Update Today: Salt Prices Rise, Chili Prices Fall (Wednesday, January 17, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Wednesday (17/1/2024) at 11.02 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 13 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include mackerel, iodized fine salt, pure beef, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), and farmer-level corn.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as simple packaged cooking oil, garlic cloves, premium rice, chicken eggs, and skipjack tuna decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt saw the highest price increase of Rp1,050 (8.65%) to Rp13,190 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili peppers experienced the lowest price decrease of Rp2,970 (6.39%) to Rp43,510 per kg.
