Residents of Kutai Timur Regency spend Rp410.57 per capita per week on cassava leaves.

In 2023, the per capita weekly expenditure on cassava leaves in Kutai Timur Regency was Rp410.57. This figure is significantly higher than the previous year's Rp378.41 per capita per week.

Average per capita expenditure refers to the cost of consumption for all household members over a month, including purchased, gifted, and self-produced items, divided by the number of household members. Household consumption is categorized into food and non-food consumption, regardless of the origin of goods, and is limited to household expenses only, excluding business expenses or expenditures given to others.

Food consumption expenditure is calculated weekly, while non-food consumption is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average per capita consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and non-food items) by the total population.

According to BPS, this increase in expenditure is driven by the monthly (month-to-month) inflation rate in this region, which reached 7.71%. Economic growth in 2023 was also recorded at 7.71%.

The top five highest per capita weekly expenditures on vegetables in Kutai Timur Regency are: garlic at Rp3,428.31, chili peppers at Rp3,424.52, shallots at Rp2,405.93, water spinach at Rp1,184.32, and the lowest is jengkol at Rp93.2.

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the average per capita expenditure in this regency reached Rp2.57 million per capita per month in March 2023. This figure increased by 42.59% compared to March 2022, which was Rp1.8 million per capita per month.

Based on region, the highest per capita expenditure on cassava leaves was in Puncak Jaya Regency, and the lowest was in Soppeng Regency. Kutai Timur Regency ranks 226th in terms of cassava leaf expenditure. The national average per capita weekly expenditure on cassava leaves is Rp257.5.
