Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Salt and Chili Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Monday (19/8/2024) at 12:48 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include mackerel, shallots, SPHP rice, garlic cloves, and bulk wheat flour.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, fine iodized salt, bulk cooking oil, medium rice, and dry soybean (import) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices surged the highest by Rp1,310 (2.38%) to Rp56,330 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of milkfish decreased the most by Rp2,270 (6.39%) to Rp33,250 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in West Sumatra according to Bapanas on August 19, 2024, at 12:48 WIB.
