Sumatra Barat's Food Prices Today: Chicken Prices Up, Chili Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Saturday (6/7/2024) at 12:13 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include bulk wheat flour, premium rice, broiler chicken, simple packaged cooking oil, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chili peppers, bulk cooking oil, packaged (non-bulk) wheat flour, garlic bulbs, and pure beef have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Broiler chicken prices saw the highest increase, jumping Rp990 (2.92%) to Rp34,870 per kg. Red chili pepper prices experienced the steepest decline, dropping Rp5,940 (11.73%) to Rp44,720 per kg.

6. Skipjack Tuna: Rp38,510 per kg (up 2.45%)
7. Broiler Chicken: Rp34,870 per kg (up 2.92%)
8. Red Onion: Rp33,740 per kg (down 2.37%)
9. Milkfish: Rp30,000 per kg (unchanged)
10. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp28,670 per kg (down 0.21%)
