Forbes released its list of the 50 richest people in Indonesia in 2022. Of that number, 4 are women.

1. Dewi Kam
Dewi Kam ranked 21st on the list of the 50 richest people in Indonesia and was the richest woman in the country in 2022. Her total wealth reached US$2 billion or Rp31.33 trillion (exchange rate Rp15,667/US$).
According to Forbes, the 72-year-old woman obtained most of her wealth from a minority stake in the coal mining company Bayan Resources. In the past year, shares of the company (ticker symbol BYAN) have surged nearly 600%.
Dewi Kam is also the owner of PT Sumber Energi Sakti Prima (SSP), which is partnered with PT Bosowa Energi in the Jeneponto Coal-Fired Power Plant (PLTU) project in Punagaya Village, Bangkala District, Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi Province.
2. Arini Subianto
Arini Subianto ranked second among the richest women in Indonesia with a total net worth of US$1.5 billion or Rp23.5 trillion. She ranked 28th in the top 50 list.
The 52-year-old is the eldest daughter of the late Indonesian conglomerate, Benny Subianto. Upon her father's passing, Arini took over the reins of her family's multi-million dollar business empire.
One source of her wealth is PT Persada Capital Investama, whose businesses span plantations, agriculture, construction, property, and mining. Arini currently serves as the president director of the company.
The company she leads is also a minority shareholder in the giant coal mining company Adaro Energy. According to Forbes, Arini has also been investing in technology startups through PT Persada since 2017.
3. Ghan Djoe Hiang
Ghan Djoe Hiang ranked third among the richest women in Indonesia in 2022 with a total net worth of US$1.07 billion or Rp16.76 trillion.
The 79-year-old is the wife of the late Indonesian tycoon, Athanasius Tossin Suharya, founder of the Baramulti Group, which operates in coal mining and trading. Baramulti Group currently holds 11 coal concessions in Kalimantan and Sumatra.
Like Dewi Kam, Ghan Djoe Hiang is a newcomer to the list of the 50 richest people in Indonesia. This year she managed to rank 41st.
4. Marina Budiman
Finally, there's Marina Budiman with a net worth of US$1.04 billion or Rp16.29 trillion. The 61-year-old is one of the founders and president commissioner of the data center company DCI Indonesia. Marina founded DCI in 2011 with Otto Toto Sugiri.
She worked with Otto Toto Sugiri at Bank Bali in 1985 and joined Sigma Cipta Caraka in 1989. Marina also co-founded Indonet, Indonesia's first internet service provider, in 1994.
