Domestic Investors to Dominate Investment in Indonesia in 2025

The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) reported that the realization of investment in Indonesia reached Rp1,931.2 trillion in 2025.

This achievement grew by 12.7% from the previous year (year-on-year/yoy), and reached 101.3% of the 2025 investment target, which was set at Rp1,905.6 trillion.

"Amidst global challenges full of uncertainty, investment flowing into Indonesia continues to be maintained, both from domestic and foreign sources," said Minister of Investment Rosan Roeslani in a press conference on Thursday (January 15, 2026).

In 2025, the majority of investment realization in Indonesia came from domestic direct investment (PMDN), with a value of Rp1,030.3 trillion, or 53.4% of the total investment.

Meanwhile, foreign direct investment (PMA) contributed Rp900.9 trillion, or 46.6%.

All investments made in 2025 absorbed 2.71 million workers. This absorption increased by 10.4% (yoy).

The largest portion of investment in Indonesia went to the basic metal industry, metal goods, non-machinery, and equipment, with a value of Rp262 trillion.

Other sectors that received significant capital inflows in 2025 were transportation, warehousing, and telecommunications (Rp211 trillion); mining (Rp199.6 trillion); and other services (Rp170.5 trillion).
