Government Spends How Much on Cybersecurity to Counter Bjorka After BSSN Head's Data Leak?

The hacker alias Bjorka is back in action after a period of silence. He has once again leaked data belonging to Hinsa Siburian, Head of the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), and commented on the agency's budget increase.

Siburian's data was uploaded by Bjorka to the breached.to website under the title 'National Cyber And Crypto Agency of Indonesia' on Thursday (September 29th). The leaked information includes photos, phone number, name, National Identity Number (NIK), Family Card Number (KK), address, date and place of birth, and vehicle type.

Bjorka also uploaded news regarding the BSSN's budget increase next year. "I HEARD SOMEONE JUST MADE QUITE A BIT OF MONEY BECAUSE OF ME?" Bjorka stated, as quoted from breached.to, Thursday (September 29th, 2022).

"LET'S ASK THIS OLD MAN WHAT THE MONEY WILL BE USED FOR," Bjorka added.

It should be noted that Commission I of the DPR (House of Representatives) has approved a budget allocation of Rp624 billion for the BSSN in 2023. The funds will be used for management support programs (Rp407.14 billion) and security and resilience programs (Rp217.22 billion).

"This budget is to counter cyberattacks like those from the hacker Bjorka," said Utut Adianto, Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the DPR RI, in a press release last Thursday (September 22nd). The BSSN is part of a special cross-agency team investigating the hacker's identity.

For information, the BSSN's budget in 2022 reached Rp554.6 billion. This means the agency's budget will increase by Rp69 billion next year.
