"Although views on current economic conditions remain divided, this optimism is supported by clear signs of progress," Populix wrote in its Consumer Confidence Index 2025 report.

Of the optimistic group, 48% of respondents believe the economy will improve due to government policies supporting businesses.

Other factors driving optimism include stable staple food prices (46%), improved education and healthcare facilities (44%), and an increase in job openings (40%).

Furthermore, positive assessments were given to the improving stock market performance (23%) and the increasing number of shoppers at malls (18%).

Populix conducted this online survey from June 10-12, 2025, with 1,100 respondents, later narrowed down to 601 respondents who were optimistic about Indonesia's economic conditions.

The majority of respondents were from Java (79%), followed by Sumatra (13%) and other islands (8%).

Respondents consisted of 50% men and 50% women. 82% of respondents were employed, and 17% were unemployed.
