East Java Food Prices Week of January 5th: Chili Prices Up, Onion Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are monitored to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (5/1/2025) at 15.32 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include red chilies, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), simple packaged cooking oil, chicken eggs, and medium-grain rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as skipjack tuna, pure beef, fine iodized salt, SPHP rice, and shallots decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase, up by Rp8,630 (11.96%) to Rp80,800 per kg. Bulk wheat flour experienced the sharpest price drop, down Rp160 (1.75%) to Rp8,980 per kg.
