547,000 Domestic Investment Projects in Indonesia, Mainly in the Trade Sector

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), there were 547,190 project units from domestic investment or Penanaman Modal Dalam Negeri (PMDN) in Indonesia in Q2 2025.

This figure surged 85% compared to the number of PMDN projects in Q1 2025, which totaled 295,026 units.

The projects recorded here are only from 23 economic sectors and do not include the upstream oil and gas sector, banking, non-bank financial institutions, insurance, household industries, micro-enterprises, and small businesses.

Here is a breakdown of the number of PMDN projects in Q2 2025 across the 23 recorded sectors, listed in descending order:

1. Trade and Repair: 202,824 units

2. Construction: 112,874 units

3. Other Services: 77,352 units

4. Transportation, Warehousing, and Telecommunications: 28,906 units

5. Hotels and Restaurants: 22,935 units

6. Housing, Industrial Estates, and Offices: 14,487 units

7. Food Industry: 12,717 units

8. Mining: 11,843 units

9. Fisheries: 9,649 units

10. Food Crops, Plantations, and Livestock: 8,083 units

11. Electricity, Gas, and Water: 6,694 units

12. Other Industries: 6,174 units

13. Machinery, Electronics, Medical Instruments, Electrical Equipment, Precision, Optics, and Clock Industries: 5,491 units

14. Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry: 5,158 units

15. Base Metal Industry, Metal Goods, Non-Machinery and Equipment: 3,770 units

16. Paper and Printing Industry: 3,476 units
