Madrasah Boarding School BOS Fund Disbursement Reaches Rp196.86 Billion in Semester I 2025

The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) reported that in the first half of 2025, disbursement of School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds for the pesantren education level reached Rp196.86 billion. This figure accounts for 50.43% of the total 2025 allocation of Rp390.36 billion.

The BOS program targets three types of religious education institutions: Pendidikan Diniyah Formal (PDF), Satuan Pendidikan Muadalah (SPM), and Pendidikan Kesetaraan pada Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah (PKPPS), across three educational levels—Ula, Wustha, and Ulya.

By level, Ulya (equivalent to senior high school or Madrasah Aliyah/MA) recorded the highest disbursement, amounting to Rp94.29 billion, or 58.17% of its allocated budget for the year.

At the Wustha level (equivalent to junior high school or MTs), BOS distribution reached Rp89.75 billion, or 45.45% of the budget.

Meanwhile, the Ula level (equivalent to elementary school or Madrasah Ibtidaiyah/MI) recorded the lowest realization at Rp12.81 billion, or 41.66% of the 2025 allocation.

In total, the BOS program has reached more than 590 students and 2,500 institutions across Indonesia.

“BOS Pesantren reflects the state’s commitment to supporting inclusive and sustainable access to quality faith-based education,” said Pesantren Director Basnang Said in a written statement on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

He emphasized that transparency and accountability in BOS fund distribution will continue to be strengthened through data digitalization and regular field monitoring.
