Papua Pegunungan Province has the highest contribution to household consumption expenditure.
Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Papua Pegunungan Province at current prices (ADHB) was Rp28.56 trillion in 2024. Of this amount, Rp22.56 trillion (83.9%) came from household consumption expenditure.
This indicates that the economy of this newly established province, a result of the division of Papua Province, is largely supported by consumer spending. The proportion of household consumption expenditure is the highest compared to other provinces.
The provinces with the next highest proportions of household consumption expenditure are Papua Selatan at 73.1%; Maluku at 68.71%; East Nusa Tenggara at 66.7%; West Java at 66.2%; and Lampung at 63.21%.
Following these are DKI Jakarta with a household expenditure contribution of 62.48%; Gorontalo at 62.07%; Yogyakarta Special Region at 61.88%; and South Sumatra at 61.75%.
Of the 38 provinces, 22 have a household consumption expenditure proportion above 50%, while the remaining 16 are below 50%.
