Community Concerns Regarding the Free Nutritious Food Program

The Center for Economic and Law Studies (Celios) surveyed public concerns regarding the Free Nutritious Meals (FNM) program launched by President Prabowo Subianto.

The results showed that 46% of respondents were concerned about the inefficient distribution of FNM, citing factors such as poor logistics, lack of inter-agency coordination, and the risk of delayed food delivery to schools.

"Inefficient distribution is a serious problem because it can prevent children from accessing the nutritious food they deserve," Celios wrote in a report titled *Mitigating the Risks of the Free Nutritious Meals Program*.

Other concerns included the potential for corruption in the FNM program (37%), food quality (14%), and implementation costs (3%).

Celios also assessed that the potential for corruption in the FNM program could occur during the procurement and distribution of food; manipulation of beneficiary data; management of funds and budgets; and irregularities in the monitoring and evaluation process.

This survey was conducted among 1,858 respondents aged 18 and above, spread across rural, suburban, and urban areas in Indonesia.

Sampling was done randomly, with data collected digitally through advertisements on Facebook and Instagram.

Celios did not specify the data collection period, but the report was published on December 30, 2024.
