Red chili pepper prices in North Sulawesi rose 41.31% in a week.

Red chili prices in North Sulawesi reached Rp 48,400 per kg on Friday, May 27, 2022. Compared to other regions, this area showed the highest price increase in the last week.

According to daily monitoring of staple food commodity prices from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center, red chili prices in North Sulawesi increased by 41.31% within a week.

Compared to prices 30 days prior, however, red chili prices in the region were still lower by -44.69%.

Nevertheless, over the past year, red chili prices in North Sulawesi's modern markets have actually decreased. The previous highest record reached Rp 125,900 per kg.

From January to May 2022, red chili prices in modern markets showed a downward trend, decreasing by -30.76% compared to the previous month.

Red chili prices reached their lowest point at Rp 34,250 per kg on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. The highest price this year reached approximately Rp 125,900 per kg.

Nationally, red chili prices started to rise towards the end of 2021. The average price of red chilies in modern markets was Rp 82,880 per kg, a 4.32% increase compared to the previous weekend.
