House Commission III of the People's Representative Council (DPR) has appointed five individuals to lead the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for the 2024-2029 period. According to *Katadata*, these five names were chosen through a direct vote on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
In the election held yesterday at the DPR's Commission III, each member cast two votes: one for the chairperson and one for a member of the leadership. Based on the voting results, Commissioner General of Police (Komjen Pol) Setyo Budianto was elected chairperson with 47 votes.
Setyo also received 45 votes for a leadership position. The four other candidates who received the most votes for leadership positions are Fitroh Rohcahyanto, Johanis Tanak, Agus Joko, and Ibnu Basuki. The vote breakdown for the 2024-2029 KPK leadership is as follows:
* Setyo Budiyanto (47 votes)
* Fitroh Rohcahyanto (48 votes)
* Johanis Tanak (48 votes)
* Agus Joko Pramono (39 votes)
* Ibnu Basuki Widodo (33 votes)
These five new leaders have reported their assets to the KPK's State Officials' Wealth Report (LHKPN).
Agus Joko Pramono reported the highest net worth, at Rp 18.6 billion. This was reported on September 7, 2023, during his tenure as Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
Agus's assets comprise land and buildings worth Rp 4.32 billion; transportation and machinery Rp 882.21 million; other movable assets Rp 2.53 billion; securities Rp 5.74 billion; cash and cash equivalents Rp 4.51 billion; and other assets Rp 620.07 million.
Johanis Tanak reported the second highest net worth, at Rp 11.21 billion. This was reported on February 26, 2024, for the 2023 audit period while Johanis was still a deputy chairman of the KPK.
Johanis's assets include land and buildings worth Rp 5.96 billion; transportation and machinery Rp 685 million; other movable assets Rp 139 million; and cash and cash equivalents Rp 4.42 billion.
Third is Setyo Budiyanto, with Rp 9.61 billion reported at the end of 2023. The majority of his assets consist of land and buildings valued at Rp 7.6 billion. Details of the KPK Chairperson's assets can be found in the link at the end of this article.
Fourth is Fitroh Rohcahyanto, with Rp 5.05 billion reported on January 3, 2024, for the 2023 period while serving as part of the Attorney General's Office for Special Crimes.
Fitroh's assets include land and buildings worth Rp 3.45 billion; transportation and machinery Rp 288 million; other movable assets Rp 285 million; cash and cash equivalents Rp 1.17 billion; and other assets Rp 210 million. Fitroh reported debts of Rp 351 million.
Lastly, Ibnu Basuki reported Rp 4.19 billion on February 5, 2024, for the 2023 period. Ibnu's assets include land and buildings worth Rp 1.12 billion; transportation and machinery Rp 391 million; other movable assets Rp 32.5 million; and cash and cash equivalents Rp 2.64 billion.
