List of Countries with the Highest Concentration of Green Talent in the Finance Sector 2023

The LinkedIn-released *Global Green Skills Report 2023* shows that the average concentration of green talent across global industries was only 12.3% in 2023. This means only 1 in 8 workers possesses green skills.

In the financial sector, the global average percentage of green talent was 6.8%.

"This places the financial sector below other industries such as energy and mining, as well as agriculture and manufacturing, in terms of the percentage of green talent," wrote the LinkedIn research team in their report.

Germany had the highest concentration of green talent in the financial sector, with 11.3% in 2023.

It was followed by Austria (10.9%), Colombia (10%), Luxembourg (9.6%), Portugal (9%), the United States (8%), and the United Kingdom (7.6%).

Green talent concentration measures the proportion of workers in an industry possessing at least one environmentally conscious skill.

This is calculated based on the average number of green skills possessed by workers, with workers possessing many skills weighted more heavily.

Consequently, Singapore's financial industry leads with a green skills intensity score of 5.

"This indicates that the Singaporean financial industry workforce possesses green skills five times more than the global industry average," wrote the LinkedIn research team.

However, the proportion remains small, with only 7.8% of the total financial workers in the country possessing green skills.
