Hidden Fortune Nearly Rp1 Trillion, This is Zarof Ricar's Recorded Wealth

Former Head of the Supreme Court's Research and Development Agency for Law and Justice, Zarof Ricar, has been named a suspect by the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) in a bribery case to reduce Ronald Tannur's sentence.

The Attorney General's Office also suspects Zarof has acted as a case fixer for 10 years.

"Mr. ZR received gratuities for handling cases in the Supreme Court in the form of money," said Abdul Qohar, Director of Investigation at the Attorney General's Office for Special Crimes, as reported by *Katadata*, Monday (October 28, 2024).

A search of Zarof's house in the Senayan area, Jakarta, uncovered Rp920.9 billion in cash and 51 kilograms of Antam gold.

During questioning, Zarof claimed the money was accumulated over 10 years, from 2012 to 2022.

"Where did this money come from? According to his statement, most of it was obtained from handling cases," said Abdul.

According to the KPK's State Officials' Wealth Report (LHKPN), in 2021 Zarof was only recorded as having assets worth Rp51.41 billion.

Most of his assets consisted of land and buildings worth Rp45.51 billion, comprising 13 plots of land and buildings spread across South Jakarta, Bogor, Denpasar, Bandung, Pekanbaru, Tangerang, and Cianjur.

He also had cash and cash equivalents worth Rp4.42 billion, transportation worth Rp740 million, other movable assets worth Rp680 million, and other assets worth Rp66.49 million.

Zarof's reported transportation consisted of a Kijang Minibus (2016), a VW Beetle (2018), and a Toyota Yaris (2012). Until the end of 2021, this former Supreme Court official was not recorded as having any debts.
