National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Employee Performance Allowances to Increase in 2024

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has recently increased the performance allowance (tukin) for employees of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas).

This decision refers to Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 118 of 2024, enacted on October 11, 2024. The last increase in Basarnas' tukin was in 2015.

"In accordance with the achievements of the bureaucratic reform implementation, the National Search and Rescue Agency has met the criteria for an adjustment of performance allowances," the regulation states.

The value of this tukin varies according to the position class. The lowest tukin value is for position class 1, namely Rp2.53 million per month, up from the previous Rp1.96 million per month.

Then, the highest tukin value is for position class 17, namely Rp33.24 million per month, up from the previous Rp26.32 million per month.

Note that this tukin is not given to Basarnas employees who do not hold a specific position, are temporarily dismissed, or are dismissed from their organic position.

Tukin is also not given to employees who are on leave without government support or are in a period of leave of absence for retirement preparation.

With this change, the old regulation, Perpres 165/2015 concerning Employee Tukin within Basarnas, is no longer valid.
